How to Prepare for Senior Photos

What to Wear for your Session

Why I believe in Prints

If you’re dreaming of a senior session that’s cute, colorful, and walkable, but still has that small-town Florida charm, Downtown Winter Garden might be your golden ticket.

It’s giving storybook main street meets Instagram backdrop in the best way. You’ve got murals, flowers, storefronts, and maybe even a little iced coffee moment if we time it right.

Is it chaotic sometimes? Yes.

Will we be dodging farmer’s market foot traffic and golden doodles on Saturdays? Also yes.

But the photo ops? So worth it.

Let’s Break It Down: Favorite Spots

1. The Blue Mural Wall

This one is a fan favorite, and for good reason.

It’s bright, fun, and totally versatile, specially if you’re rocking something bold or colorful. The texture adds personality without stealing the show, and it makes your outfit pop in all the right ways.

2. The Florals + Fountain Area

Right along the West Orange Trail, there’s this little secret garden moment…swings, florals, trees, and a sweet little fountain. It feels tucked away even when the street’s busy, and it photographs like something out of a movie.

Springtime? It’s full bloom magic.

Fall? Still cute, still vibing.

We love a versatile queen.

3. The Storefront Shots

From cute boutiques to cozy cafés, the storefronts around Plant Street give us those “I’m effortlessly chill and also adorable” kind of photos. Lean against a doorway, toss your hair, maybe sip something iced, this is where we go for that casual-cool feel.

It’s giving coffee run turned editorial.

4. That Random Bench + Brick Moment

Don’t sleep on the little things, like that cute bench you’d normally walk right past. Add in some soft plants , a little brick texture, and boom, one of my favorite soft-and-sweet portrait setups is born.

Sometimes the quiet spots do the most.

Spots I Haven’t Used (Yet), But I’m Coming for Them

There’s still so much here I haven’t gotten to photograph yet, but I’m dying to:

The cobblestone streets? Texture for days.

City Hall? Clean, white, dramatic backdrop energy.

And the top of the parking garage?
That rooftop glow is a whole vibe, and I’m manifesting a senior who wants to go full editorial up there.

Okay, confession: I have shot up there.

Just… not a senior.

Let’s just say Spider-Man made a cameo and had a full-on golden hour face-off with Venom.

It’s giving Marvel Cinematic Universe, but make it Orlando.

When to Shoot Here (From One Uncool Mom to Another)

Avoid Saturdays, especially during the farmers market unless your dream is photo-bombers and stroller gridlock, and a beautiful parrot cameo. (IYKYK)

Weekdays or golden hour evenings = chef’s kiss lighting and fewer people.

There’s plenty of shade from buildings and trees, so even full sun mid-day can totally work. No squinting required.

My Honest Take?

I’m a nature girl at heart…give me a field, a beach, or a quiet lake and I’m in heaven. But Downtown Winter Garden? It’s the rare town center that still delivers all the options in one stop. You can go colorful and bold, sweet and natural, or flirty and editorial, all in a quick walk. (No Downtown Winter Park or Orlando parking stress.)

And if you want your gallery to look like it hit five locations without leaving town?

This is your spot.

Want to Book It? Let’s Do It.

You bring the outfits. I’ll bring the direction, the hype, and maybe even a superhero reference or two. Your session will be relaxed, fun, and full of those effortlessly cool, “this is so me” moments.
