How to Prepare for Senior Photos

What to Wear for your Session

Why I believe in Prints

(First of all: deep breath)

Okay…Let’s just name it.

It’s January.

Your kiddo graduates in May.

And senior photos are still… not booked.

If you just felt a little panic flutter in your chest , that’s okay! Welcome. You’re in very good company.

This is not a “how did you let this happen” post.

This is a life gets so crazy and time flies” post.

Because here’s the thing…the stretch between back-to-school and the new year is pure chaos.

Homecoming, sports, holidays, family stuff, school stuff, emotional stuff…the calendar filling up fast.

Senior photos often get forgotten until suddenly, it’s January

The good news is you are NOT behind.

The mom part of me wants to say this

Even with a professional camera in my house, even knowing how fast this season goes, I still catch myself wishing I could slow it all down.

My oldest is a junior and I already feel it….the shift, the becoming, the way childhood quietly starts packing its bags.

Most parents have a million iPhone photos (same.same.same.)

But what they don’t always have are print-worthy, frame-on-the-wall, “I will treasure this forever” images from this exact season.

And this season? It goes fast.

If you’re worried you waited “too long,” here’s the real truth

You haven’t! There is plenty of time left to get it booked and to capture this meaningful season.

Once it’s scheduled, everything else feels lighter. You can plan, prep, look forward to it. It becomes something good instead of something nagging at you in the back of your mind.

The really good news

You don’t need to do senior photos tomorrow.

You don’t need to have everything figured out right now.

Spring gives us time.

Florida gives us gorgeous options.

And flexibility is built into the experience.

So if senior photos are still sitting on your mental to-do list…

Consider this your gentle nudge. Not a scare tactic. Not a countdown clock. Just a reminder that this moment deserves to be documented.

I’m currently booking a limited number of spring senior sessions in Central Florida, and if you’re hoping to capture this season before graduation sneaks up (because it will), I’d love to help you do that in a way that feels calm, meaningful, and very you.

Because this chapter matters.

And you’re not too late to honor it.

Wondering what to wear for your outdoor shoot?
