Here’s the truth,
I don’t love talking about myself. I’m not the kind of person who brags or walks into a room like, “TA-DAA, HERE I AM!” I’m more of a slide in quietly, compliment your shoes, then overthink it for 3 days kind of person.
Yes, I’m a photographer. Yes, I will absolutely yell, “SLAY QUEEN,” in the middle of your session and make you laugh until your mascara smudges. But also? I’m a deep feeler. I’m quiet in real life. I hate phone calls. Small talk drains me, and showing up as “on” takes effort.
But I’m not always quiet.
I’ve learned that about myself. That once I feel like I can really be me, the layers start to peel back. I laugh a lot. I make weird weather jokes. I show up as this totally uncool mom who’s just trying her best.
But getting there takes time.
I think that’s why people are surprised when I say I’m introverted, because I’ve gotten good at putting on the version of me that feels “acceptable.” I can be bubbly, friendly, even confident… but sometimes I’m screaming inside, pretending I’m not dying during a phone call or trying to write something “marketable” about myself.
And honestly? That’s exactly why I do this work.
Because I get it. That feeling of not knowing if you’re enough, of wondering if you’ll be accepted just as you are…awkward, unsure, unsure how to smile, unsure how to pose, unsure how to be.
So when I say I’m here to hype you up, I mean it. Not in a fake-it-for-the-camera way. In a “you’re already worthy of being seen” way.
Because you are. And I want you to feel it.
I don’t want to be the center of attention. I want to give you the space to shine. That’s the heart of everything I do as a senior photographer here in Orlando and Winter Garden.
I’m not here to be the star of the show. I’m here to see you…really see you… and create something that makes you feel so beautiful and real, period.
Whether we’re on the beach at sunrise or wandering through downtown Winter Garden, this experience is about you…not performing, not posing, just showing up exactly as you are and letting me reflect it back through my lens.
I am my brand. I thought about making this post one of those polished, professional things like, “Why being an introvert makes me a better senior photographer.” And maybe I will write that someday.
But this one? This one feels more like me…the tired mom, moldy lemon finding (don’t ask… actually, do), camera in hand, quiet but hype girl who adores this work and pours her heart into every senior session.
I guess I just wanted to introduce myself, not in a big “ta-da” kind of way, but in the real way.
The honest way.
The “hey, if you’re a little awkward or unsure or secretly shy… you’re in good company” way.
You’re welcome here, just as you are.
Always.
